Round, but also square!
Typeface-Info
Having a go at circulos again. I wasn't happy with the weight and made it thinner, then thicker, then changed the round endings with square ones, then kept both. Variable fonts for the win. I changed some curves and spacing along the way. A yes, it also has small-caps now in all weights. The original typeface (or something very near) is still available at font-weight:400.
This is the main typeface for the page now (and also replaces old GrandCirculos). Round fits well with Oup, and square is easier to read. The different weights are nice for headings and text.
I even use it to change the font-weight a bit between dark- and lightmode. While this is not a full multiplex typeface (where all glyphs need the same space over all the weights), most of the characters share the same outline-characteristic over all weights.
Things to look out for
To be honest, it is a bit rushed - I got carried away. Kerning, Spacing in multiple dimensions: Hard Work and some planning, it seems... Surfing through interpolated space however: fun fun fun! Should I add an axis for spacing? Decisions, decisions.
